Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which rose 3.10% or 10.70 points to trade at 356.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV: WALMEX ) added 2.23% or 1.22 points to end at 56.00 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ) was up 1.94% or 0.31 points to 16.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ), which fell 3.94% or 1.50 points to trade at 36.59 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV: BBAJIOO ) declined 3.90% or 1.79 points to end at 44.07 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV: GFINBURO ) was down 3.68% or 1.76 points to 46.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 119 to 108 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.51% or 15.60 to $3,028.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $67.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.20 to trade at $72.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.49% to 20.23, while EUR/MXN rose 0.19% to 21.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 103.81.
