Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ), which rose 1.73% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Prosus (AS: PRX ) added 1.73% or 0.74 points to end at 43.44 and Relx PLC (AS: REL ) was up 0.57% or 0.26 points to 46.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS: RAND ), which fell 3.04% or 1.27 points to trade at 40.48 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) declined 2.94% or 3.15 points to end at 104.05 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ) was down 2.29% or 2.18 points to 92.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 67 to 25 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.73% or 0.07 to 3.82. Shares in DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.29% or 2.18 to 92.90.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.34% or 0.23 to $68.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.21% or 0.15 to hit $72.15 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.71% or 21.59 to trade at $3,022.21 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 103.81.
