Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate , Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.36% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME: ICAG ), which rose 3.57% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (BME: CABK ) added 2.68% or 0.20 points to end at 7.50 and Indra A (BME: IDR ) was up 2.62% or 0.70 points to 27.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME: ROVI ), which fell 1.90% or 1.00 points to trade at 51.60 at the close. Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME: ITX ) declined 0.79% or 0.37 points to end at 46.63 and Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ) was down 0.72% or 0.07 points to 9.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 139 to 51 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME: ROVI ) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.90% or 1.00 to 51.60. Shares in Caixabank SA (BME: CABK ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.68% or 0.20 to 7.50. Shares in Indra A (BME: IDR ) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.62% or 0.70 to 27.38.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 12.81 to $3,056.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $68.87 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.15 to trade at $72.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 103.71.
