Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.75%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV: CHDRAUIB ), which rose 3.95% or 4.58 points to trade at 120.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: BIMBOA ) added 1.27% or 0.70 points to end at 55.86 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV: KOFUBL ) was up 1.20% or 2.17 points to 182.31 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ), which fell 5.10% or 0.86 points to trade at 16.00 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) declined 4.21% or 0.53 points to end at 12.07 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV: GFNORTEO ) was down 2.54% or 3.76 points to 144.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 118 to 81 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.07% or 2.00 to $3,056.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.36% or 0.94 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $73.31 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.42% to 20.18, while EUR/MXN rose 0.37% to 21.67.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 104.20.
