Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Electronics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Enlight Corp (TW: 2438 ), which rose 10.00% or 2.90 points to trade at 31.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) added 9.97% or 5.80 points to end at 64.00 and Space Shuttle Hi-Tech Co Ltd (TW: 2440 ) was up 9.92% or 1.20 points to 13.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ), which fell 10.00% or 1.45 points to trade at 13.05 at the close. SDI Corp (TW: 2351 ) declined 7.76% or 7.80 points to end at 92.70 and AzureWave Technologies Inc (TW: 3694 ) was down 4.93% or 2.90 points to 55.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.00% or 1.45 to 13.05.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.21% or 0.15 to $69.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $73.16 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.89% or 27.54 to trade at $3,118.44 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.20% to 33.16, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.19% to 0.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 103.97.
