Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities , Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 5.19% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT: STMMI ), which fell 0.83% or 0.14 points to trade at 16.87 at the close. Meanwhile, DiaSorin SpA (BIT: DIAS ) fell 2.68% or 2.50 points to end at 90.76 and UniCredit SpA (BIT: CRDI ) was down 2.77% or 1.22 points to 42.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were A2A SpA (BIT: A2 ), which fell 8.54% or 0.18 points to trade at 1.97 at the close. Recordati (BIT: RECI ) declined 8.47% or 4.29 points to end at 46.36 and Eni SpA (BIT: ENI ) was down 7.72% or 1.01 points to 12.04.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 513 to 112 and 29 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 2.00% or 1.24 to $60.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.92% or 1.26 to hit $64.32 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.26% or 38.14 to trade at $2,997.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.99% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 103.24.
