Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Aerospace & Defense , Financial Services and Support Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 2.90%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Vistry Group PLC (LON: VTYV ), which rose 7.75% or 39.60 points to trade at 550.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON: FLTRF ) added 6.93% or 1,120.00 points to end at 17,280.00 and Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON: RR ) was up 6.83% or 43.40 points to 679.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BT Group PLC (LON: BT ), which fell 3.14% or 4.90 points to trade at 151.30 at the close. Standard Chartered PLC (LON: STAN ) declined 1.54% or 14.40 points to end at 922.80 and Kingfisher PLC (LON: KGF ) was down 1.13% or 2.80 points to 245.60.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1519 to 384 and 474 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.29% or 38.45 to $3,012.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.82% or 0.50 to hit $61.20 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.21 to trade at $64.42 a barrel.

GBP/USD was down 1.00% to 1.28, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 103.07.
