Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.80% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV: Q ), which rose 9.49% or 17.51 points to trade at 202.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ) added 6.88% or 9.21 points to end at 143.00 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV: GFINBURO ) was up 6.46% or 3.18 points to 52.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV: WALMEX ), which fell 2.49% or 1.58 points to trade at 61.93 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) declined 1.47% or 6.30 points to end at 421.49 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV: GCC ) was down 1.06% or 1.81 points to 169.04.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 188 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (BMV: GFINBURO ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.46% or 3.18 to 52.39.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.45% or 117.85 to $3,301.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.17% or 1.38 to hit $62.29 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.90% or 1.28 to trade at $66.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 19.63, while EUR/MXN rose 0.10% to 22.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.03% at 99.71.
