Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ), which rose 1.04% or 65.00 points to trade at 6,318.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX: SNGS_p ) added 0.93% or 0.50 points to end at 53.88 and ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX: OZONDR ) was up 0.45% or 16.50 points to 3,673.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Severstal PJSC (MCX: CHMF ), which fell 2.78% or 30.40 points to trade at 1,062.60 at the close. Rosneft PJSC (MCX: ROSN ) declined 2.33% or 11.25 points to end at 471.40 and AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX: ALRS ) was down 2.27% or 1.18 points to 50.89.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 202 to 43 and 6 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.93% to 55.60.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.45% or 117.85 to $3,301.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.17% or 1.38 to hit $62.29 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $66.15 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 83.00, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.03% at 99.71.
