Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate , Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.28%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME: SLRS ), which rose 3.15% or 0.21 points to trade at 6.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Aena SME SA (BME: AENA ) added 1.80% or 3.80 points to end at 215.40 and Bankinter (BME: BKT ) was up 1.75% or 0.18 points to 10.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Caixabank SA (BME: CABK ), which fell 1.97% or 0.13 points to trade at 6.67 at the close. Banco Santander (BME: SAN ) declined 1.04% or 0.07 points to end at 6.25 and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME: BBVA ) was down 0.85% or 0.11 points to 12.25.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 118 to 72 and 24 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.51% or 49.69 to $3,343.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $62.19 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.15 to trade at $65.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 99.29.
