Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.10% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALFAA ), which rose 7.99% or 1.07 points to trade at 14.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV: VESTA ) added 4.14% or 2.08 points to end at 52.34 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) was up 3.35% or 14.12 points to 436.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ), which fell 4.22% or 1.71 points to trade at 38.79 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: AC ) declined 2.08% or 4.44 points to end at 208.90 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV: PINFRA ) was down 1.52% or 3.44 points to 223.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 154 to 63 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.04% or 67.20 to $3,361.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.84% or 0.52 to hit $62.79 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $66.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 19.60, while EUR/MXN rose 0.11% to 22.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 99.07.
