Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate , Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.79% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Hypera SA (BVMF: HYPE3 ), which rose 12.27% or 2.58 points to trade at 23.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ) added 10.80% or 1.03 points to end at 10.57 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF: PETZ3 ) was up 9.65% or 0.39 points to 4.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ), which fell 24.84% or 0.78 points to trade at 2.36 at the close. Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF: BEEF3 ) declined 5.30% or 0.42 points to end at 7.50 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF: USIM5 ) was down 4.28% or 0.26 points to 5.81.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 658 to 266 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; losing 24.84% or 0.78 to 2.36.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.93% to 32.68.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.80% or 59.35 to $3,353.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.77% or 0.48 to hit $62.75 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 3.29% or 12.70 to trade at $398.45 .
USD/BRL was down 0.42% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL rose 0.26% to 6.48.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 99.04.
