Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Semiconductor , Electronics and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 4.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Kinik Co (TW: 1560 ), which rose 10.00% or 18.50 points to trade at 203.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Scientech Corp (TW: 3583 ) added 10.00% or 24.00 points to end at 264.00 and AVer Information Inc (TW: 3669 ) was up 9.98% or 3.20 points to 35.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Faraday Technology Corp (TW: 3035 ), which fell 5.32% or 10.00 points to trade at 178.00 at the close. YungShin Global Holding Corp (TW: 3705 ) declined 4.02% or 2.60 points to end at 62.00 and Super Dragon Technology Co Ltd (TW: 9955 ) was down 3.62% or 1.25 points to 33.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.29% or 0.18 to $62.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.21% or 0.14 to hit $66.69 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.25% or 41.76 to trade at $3,306.84 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.23% to 32.52, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.24% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 99.61.
