Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate , Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.68% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Unicaja Banco SA (BME: UNI ), which rose 2.86% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Acciona (BME: ANA ) added 1.93% or 2.40 points to end at 126.60 and Banco Santander (BME: SAN ) was up 1.82% or 0.12 points to 6.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME: SLRS ), which fell 1.61% or 0.11 points to trade at 6.84 at the close. Amadeus IT (BME: AMA ) declined 0.91% or 0.64 points to end at 69.36 and Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ) was down 0.63% or 0.05 points to 8.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 110 to 80 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.44% or 47.41 to $3,345.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.92% or 1.21 to hit $61.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.99% or 1.31 to trade at $64.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 98.97.
