Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms , Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.63% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Iveco Group NV (BIT: IVG ), which rose 5.64% or 0.89 points to trade at 16.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Leonardo SpA (BIT: LDOF ) added 3.40% or 1.61 points to end at 48.92 and Brunello Cucinelli (BIT: BCU ) was up 3.20% or 3.50 points to 112.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Buzzi Unicem (BIT: BZU ), which fell 1.35% or 0.66 points to trade at 48.16 at the close. Prysmian SpA (BIT: PRY ) declined 1.05% or 0.58 points to end at 54.64 and Saipem SpA (BIT: SPMI ) was down 0.88% or 0.02 points to 2.25.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 330 to 222 and 49 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.48% or 0.91 to $62.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.35% or 0.87 to hit $65.40 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.24% or 40.16 to trade at $3,186.44 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.08.
