Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.31%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which rose 3.14% or 12.50 points to trade at 410.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Gruma SAB de CV (BMV: GRUMAB ) added 1.77% or 6.44 points to end at 369.78 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) was up 1.72% or 0.14 points to 8.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: BIMBOA ), which fell 5.18% or 3.03 points to trade at 55.41 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV: BBAJIOO ) declined 3.35% or 1.75 points to end at 50.51 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV: GFINBURO ) was down 2.73% or 1.42 points to 50.57.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 138 to 95 and 16 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.82% or 58.80 to $3,292.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.19% or 0.12 to hit $62.26 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.06 to trade at $65.60 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 19.27, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 21.74.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 99.88.
