Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Shinkong Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1419 ), which rose 9.97% or 4.75 points to trade at 52.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) added 9.96% or 9.60 points to end at 106.00 and Universal Inc (TW: 1325 ) was up 9.95% or 2.95 points to 32.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW: 6230 ), which fell 9.68% or 15.00 points to trade at 140.00 at the close. Oceanic Beverages Co Inc (TW: 1213 ) declined 9.06% or 1.30 points to end at 13.05 and Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ) was down 8.34% or 0.72 points to 7.91.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Shinkong Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1419 ) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.97% or 4.75 to 52.40. Shares in Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) rose to all time highs; rising 9.96% or 9.60 to 106.00. Shares in Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ) fell to 5-year lows; down 8.34% or 0.72 to 7.91.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.34% or 0.83 to $62.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.27% or 0.83 to hit $66.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.94% or 30.79 to trade at $3,315.39 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.17, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.21% to 0.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 99.51.
