Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction , Retail and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.34% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index declined 0.45%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR: IFXGn ), which rose 2.26% or 0.76 points to trade at 34.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR: DTEGn ) added 1.81% or 0.61 points to end at 34.31 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR: CBKG ) was up 1.43% or 0.37 points to 26.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR: HEIG ), which fell 1.75% or 3.25 points to trade at 182.35 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR: VNAn ) declined 1.70% or 0.50 points to end at 28.95 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR: FREG ) was down 1.16% or 0.51 points to 43.52.
The top performers on the MDAX were RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) which rose 6.64% to 69.58, Gerresheimer AG (ETR: GXIG ) which was up 3.74% to settle at 61.00 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which gained 2.07% to close at 79.00.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR: JUNG_p ) which was down 2.97% to 34.68 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR: BOSSn ) which lost 2.81% to settle at 39.81 and Puma SE (ETR: PUMG ) which was down 2.71% to 23.33 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR: IFXGn ) which rose 2.26% to 34.65, Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which was up 2.07% to settle at 79.00 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR: DTEGn ) which gained 1.81% to close at 34.31.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR: COKG ) which was down 2.28% to 27.90 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR: AFXG ) which lost 2.27% to settle at 60.15 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which was down 1.90% to 17.56 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 370 to 249 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR: CBKG ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.43% or 0.37 to 26.29. Shares in RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) rose to all time highs; up 6.64% or 4.33 to 69.58. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) rose to all time highs; up 2.07% or 1.60 to 79.00. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) rose to all time highs; up 2.07% or 1.60 to 79.00.
The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.38% to 17.94.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.92% or 30.31 to $3,314.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.31% or 0.19 to hit $61.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.22 to trade at $65.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 99.32.
