Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Household Goods & Home Construction , Beverage and Fixed Line Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Hiscox Ltd (LON: HSX ), which rose 7.54% or 90.00 points to trade at 1,284.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BT Group PLC (LON: BT ) added 3.60% or 6.10 points to end at 175.35 and Pershing Square Holdings Ltd (LON: PSHP ) was up 3.49% or 130.00 points to 3,856.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DCC plc (LON: DCC ), which fell 4.90% or 234.00 points to trade at 4,540.00 at the close. Diageo PLC (LON: DGE ) declined 3.38% or 72.00 points to end at 2,061.00 and Intertek Group PLC (LON: ITRK ) was down 3.29% or 162.00 points to 4,758.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1086 to 637 and 623 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.66% or 21.81 to $3,291.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.23% or 0.76 to hit $60.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.88 to trade at $64.03 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.34, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 99.80.
