Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods , Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.58%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.57%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA: TCFP ), which rose 1.65% or 4.20 points to trade at 259.50 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA: ESLX ) added 0.84% or 2.20 points to end at 262.60 and Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) was up 0.71% or 0.10 points to 13.43 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ), which fell 3.84% or 0.37 points to trade at 9.17 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) declined 3.79% or 1.05 points to end at 26.66 and Renault SA (EPA: RENA ) was down 2.81% or 1.39 points to 48.15.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA: ELIOR ) which rose 3.84% to 2.81, Elis Services SA (EPA: ELIS ) which was up 2.42% to settle at 23.74 and Coface (EPA: COFA ) which gained 2.04% to close at 16.49.

The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA: WLN ) which was down 6.05% to 4.88 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA: ETL ) which lost 5.67% to settle at 3.25 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA: UBIP ) which was down 4.69% to 9.85 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 302 to 182 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 0.71% or 0.10 to 13.43. Shares in Elis Services SA (EPA: ELIS ) rose to all time highs; up 2.42% or 0.56 to 23.74.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.57% or 18.89 to $3,294.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.27% or 0.78 to hit $60.79 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.88 to trade at $64.03 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 99.79.
