Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate , Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (BVMF: BRKM5 ), which rose 9.15% or 0.93 points to trade at 11.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF: RAIZ4 ) added 7.00% or 0.14 points to end at 2.14 and Direcional Engenharia SA (BVMF: DIRR3 ) was up 4.53% or 1.71 points to 39.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF: AZZA3 ), which fell 6.07% or 2.50 points to trade at 38.70 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ) declined 4.96% or 0.47 points to end at 9.00 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ) was down 3.06% or 0.13 points to 4.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 472 to 445 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Direcional Engenharia SA (BVMF: DIRR3 ) rose to all time highs; up 4.53% or 1.71 to 39.48.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 9.09% to 29.53.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.00% or 66.06 to $3,361.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.85% or 0.52 to hit $61.72 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.26% or 0.95 to trade at $359.80 .
USD/BRL was down 1.19% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL fell 0.38% to 6.42.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.88% at 98.97.
