Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.79%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT: PSALr ), which rose 4.91% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Kri-Kri Milk (AT: KRIr ) added 4.05% or 0.70 points to end at 18.00 and Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT: EXCr ) was up 4.01% or 0.23 points to 5.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ), which fell 4.00% or 0.26 points to trade at 6.24 at the close. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT: OLTr ) declined 1.88% or 0.60 points to end at 31.40 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT: TWSr ) was down 0.60% or 0.02 points to 3.29.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 110 to 15 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT: PSALr ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.91% or 0.13 to 2.78. Shares in Kri-Kri Milk (AT: KRIr ) rose to all time highs; up 4.05% or 0.70 to 18.00. Shares in Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT: EXCr ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.01% or 0.23 to 5.96.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.84% or 28.65 to $3,365.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.26% or 0.16 to hit $61.37 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.21 to trade at $64.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 98.90.
