Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the IT , Consumer Discretionary and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite added 0.75% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were ATS Corporation (TSX: ATS ), which rose 20.27% or 7.10 points to trade at 42.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Ngex Minerals Ltd (TSX: NGEX ) added 4.87% or 0.73 points to end at 15.73 and Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX: EFR ) was up 4.74% or 0.35 points to 7.73 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (TSX: IVN ), which fell 16.19% or 2.08 points to trade at 10.77 at the close. Transcontinental Inc (TSX: TCLa ) declined 1.29% or 0.27 points to end at 20.67 and Boyd Group Services Inc (TSX: BYD ) was down 1.02% or 2.13 points to 207.36.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 687 to 207 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ngex Minerals Ltd (TSX: NGEX ) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.87% or 0.73 to 15.73.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 0.15% to 13.72.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.70% or 23.90 to $3,370.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $61.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $64.18 a barrel.

CAD/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 0.73, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.15% to 0.64.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 98.89.
