Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology , Retail and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.96% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.89%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG ), which rose 5.03% or 1.56 points to trade at 32.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR: QIA ) added 2.70% or 1.01 points to end at 38.63 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n ) was up 2.59% or 2.16 points to 85.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR: RWEG ), which fell 1.30% or 0.43 points to trade at 32.59 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) declined 1.23% or 0.19 points to end at 15.65 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR: P911_p ) was down 1.14% or 0.49 points to 42.47.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which rose 5.74% to 86.60, Puma SE (ETR: PUMG ) which was up 5.11% to settle at 23.46 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR: DHER ) which gained 3.74% to close at 25.77.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 10.30% to 7.51 in late trade, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR: RDC ) which lost 2.80% to settle at 121.70 and RTL Group SA (ETR: RRTL ) which was down 1.62% to 33.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which rose 5.74% to 86.60, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which was up 4.53% to settle at 39.72 and Kontron AG (ETR: KTN ) which gained 3.83% to close at 23.32.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 10.30% to 7.51 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR: EUZG ) which lost 1.50% to settle at 62.25 and Bechtle AG (ETR: BC8G ) which was down 1.40% to 39.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 365 to 238 and 46 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 11.13% to 20.77.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.19% or 74.41 to $3,320.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.48% or 0.91 to hit $60.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.83 to trade at $63.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 99.52.
