Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.85% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT: ADMr ), which rose 4.60% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Gr Sarantis SA (AT: SRSr ) added 4.35% or 0.58 points to end at 13.90 and Alpha Bank SA (AT: ACBr ) was up 4.26% or 0.11 points to 2.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT: PSALr ), which fell 1.43% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.76 at the close. Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT: EXCr ) declined 1.01% or 0.06 points to end at 5.90 and Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ) was down 0.96% or 0.06 points to 6.18.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 54 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alpha Bank SA (AT: ACBr ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.26% or 0.11 to 2.79.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.97% or 66.96 to $3,327.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.64% or 1.01 to hit $60.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.45% or 0.93 to trade at $63.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 99.37.
