Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials , Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.61%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS: NN ), which rose 1.12% or 0.60 points to trade at 54.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AS: HEIN ) added 0.16% or 0.12 points to end at 77.02 and Adyen NV (AS: ADYEN ) was down 0.07% or 1.20 points to 1,619.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ), which fell 1.98% or 1.96 points to trade at 96.90 at the close. Exor NV (AS: EXOR ) declined 1.46% or 1.25 points to end at 84.55 and Randstad NV (AS: RAND ) was down 1.39% or 0.52 points to 36.85.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 56 to 41 and 13 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.10% or 1.28 to $62.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.71% or 1.09 to hit $64.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 7.01 to trade at $3,321.29 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 99.82.
