Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.24% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ), which rose 5.64% or 2.73 points to trade at 51.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ) added 2.32% or 0.31 points to end at 13.65 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV: GAPB ) was up 2.25% or 9.73 points to 441.83 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV: ASURB ), which fell 6.60% or 43.94 points to trade at 621.98 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV: Q ) declined 2.51% or 5.51 points to end at 214.41 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was down 2.21% or 0.53 points to 23.43.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 141 to 77 and 15 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.48% or 16.10 to $3,312.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.63% or 0.99 to hit $61.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.75 to trade at $64.32 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 19.40, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 21.91.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 99.82.
