Investing.com -- Hiscox (LON: HSX ) on Thursday appointed Peter Clarke as Chair designate, subject to regulatory approval. Clarke will join the company’s Board on June 1 and will take over as Chair on July 1, replacing Interim Chair Colin Keogh, who will step down from the Board.
The insurance company described Clarke as having extensive executive and non-executive experience in FTSE-listed financial services companies.
He is a qualified solicitor and began his career at Slaughter and May. His executive roles have included 20 years at Man Group (LON: EMG ), where he held senior positions including Group Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
Clarke’s board experience includes non-executive roles at Axa (EPA: AXAF ) Investment Managers SA and Sainsbury’s Bank Plc.
Most recently, he served for seven years as Chair of Lancashire Insurance Holdings.
He is currently Chair of Redwheel and a Non-Executive Director at Lombard Odier Asset Management, serving on its US, European and Swiss boards.
Hiscox Group CEO Aki Hussain said Clarke’s background in financial services and experience in expanding businesses in the U.S., along with his understanding of the large-scale insurance market, align with Hiscox’s current direction.
“Peter joins us at an exciting moment in the development of Hiscox, as we pursue ambitious expansion plans,” Hussain said.
