Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Evermore Chemical Industry Co Ltd (TW: 1735 ), which rose 10.00% or 1.65 points to trade at 18.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp (TW: 1711 ) added 9.97% or 1.85 points to end at 20.40 and Chung Hwa Chemical Industrial Works Ltd (TW: 1727 ) was up 9.94% or 2.45 points to 27.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shihlin Paper Corp (TW: 1903 ), which fell 9.90% or 7.10 points to trade at 64.60 at the close. Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW: 1235 ) declined 9.90% or 8.50 points to end at 77.40 and Shinkong Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1419 ) was down 8.20% or 6.70 points to 75.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.76% or 1.09 to $62.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.62% or 1.04 to hit $65.36 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 25.86 to trade at $3,296.54 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 29.98, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.08% to 0.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 100.25.
