Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs , Healthcare Equipment & Services and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Segro Plc (LON: SGRO ), which rose 4.13% or 27.80 points to trade at 701.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresnillo PLC (LON: FRES ) added 3.26% or 37.00 points to end at 1,171.00 and ConvaTec Group PLC (LON: CTEC ) was up 3.22% or 9.06 points to 290.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Auto Trader Group Plc (LON: AUTOA ), which fell 11.27% or 101.40 points to trade at 798.60 at the close. National Grid PLC (LON: NG ) declined 3.78% or 40.50 points to end at 1,031.00 and Coca Cola HBC AG (LON: CCH ) was down 2.39% or 94.00 points to 3,842.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 822 to 686 and 701 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fresnillo PLC (LON: FRES ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.26% or 37.00 to 1,171.00. Shares in ConvaTec Group PLC (LON: CTEC ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.22% or 9.06 to 290.86.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.83% or 27.65 to $3,350.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.97% or 0.60 to hit $61.24 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.74 to trade at $63.58 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.35, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 99.24.
