Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS: ADYEN ), which rose 3.72% or 60.20 points to trade at 1,680.00 at the close. Meanwhile, ASM International NV (AS: ASMI ) added 2.70% or 13.10 points to end at 497.50 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) was up 1.47% or 1.60 points to 110.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx PLC (AS: REL ), which fell 2.31% or 1.12 points to trade at 47.42 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS: WLSNc ) declined 1.52% or 2.40 points to end at 156.00 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) was down 1.18% or 0.32 points to 26.86.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 58 to 36 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.95% or 0.59 to $61.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.13% or 0.73 to hit $63.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.92% or 30.51 to trade at $3,352.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.47% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 99.23.
