Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA: EDEN ), which rose 1.66% or 0.45 points to trade at 27.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) added 1.30% or 0.62 points to end at 48.33 and AXA SA (EPA: AXAF ) was up 0.95% or 0.39 points to 41.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA: TCFP ), which fell 2.02% or 5.50 points to trade at 266.90 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA: CARR ) declined 1.25% or 0.18 points to end at 14.23 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) was down 1.18% or 0.32 points to 26.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA: XFAB ) which rose 4.69% to 5.36, Nexity (EPA: NEXI ) which was up 4.08% to settle at 9.83 and ICADE (EPA: ICAD ) which gained 3.96% to close at 24.16.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA: EAPI ) which was down 5.38% to 2.99 in late trade, Thales (EPA: TCFP ) which lost 2.02% to settle at 266.90 and Carrefour SA (EPA: CARR ) which was down 1.25% to 14.23 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 177 and 95 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.86% or 28.65 to $3,351.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.92% or 0.57 to hit $61.27 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.71 to trade at $63.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 99.24.
