Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Alumil (AT: ALMr ), which rose 3.19% or 0.16 points to trade at 5.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT: ELHA ) added 2.60% or 0.06 points to end at 2.37 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT: TWSr ) was up 1.80% or 0.06 points to 3.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT: OPAr ), which fell 3.38% or 0.69 points to trade at 19.73 at the close. Titan Cement International SA (AT: TITCr ) declined 3.11% or 1.30 points to end at 40.55 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ) was down 2.67% or 1.26 points to 45.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 53 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT: ELHA ) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.60% or 0.06 to 2.37.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.41% or 13.51 to $3,335.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.02% or 0.63 to hit $61.21 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.12% or 0.72 to trade at $63.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 99.36.
