Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.21%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ), which rose 3.34% or 0.30 points to trade at 9.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ) added 2.11% or 0.46 points to end at 22.26 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: GCARSOA1 ) was up 2.01% or 2.60 points to 131.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ), which fell 2.80% or 0.38 points to trade at 13.19 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ) declined 2.52% or 1.10 points to end at 42.63 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV: GCC ) was down 1.68% or 3.10 points to 181.49.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 144 to 86 and 15 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.60% or 20.10 to $3,342.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.47% or 0.91 to hit $60.93 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.59% or 1.02 to trade at $63.30 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 19.32, while EUR/MXN rose 0.04% to 21.97.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 99.28.
