Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials , Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.25%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Automob Participações SA (BVMF: AMOB3 ), which rose 11.83% or 1.42 points to trade at 13.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF: PETZ3 ) added 2.38% or 0.10 points to end at 4.30 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ) was up 2.13% or 0.54 points to 25.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ), which fell 6.80% or 0.07 points to trade at 0.96 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ) declined 4.92% or 0.47 points to end at 9.08 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF: BEEF3 ) was down 3.83% or 0.20 points to 5.02.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 511 to 391 and 65 ended unchanged.

Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; falling 6.80% or 0.07 to 0.96. Shares in Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ) rose to all time highs; up 2.13% or 0.54 to 25.85.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 11.09% to 27.75.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.59% or 19.62 to $3,342.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.49% or 0.92 to hit $60.92 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.92% or 3.25 to trade at $348.70 .

USD/BRL was down 0.36% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL rose 0.32% to 6.44.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 99.30.
